Housewarming party

Had a small housewarming party with my colleagues this evening. Thought it would be great to "warm up" the new home before Chinese New Year. What a great way to usher in the Dragon Year! LOL. Thanks for everyone who turned up and special thanks to Chin Fei for doing the cooking and making this event happen. :) Here are the pictures:

We also like to thank the following people who made our home-buying journey a good one. Seriously, we are blessed to have such good people for helping us out:


1. Brett Johnston from Brett Johnson Real Estate: For being such a fantastic real estate agent conveying our messages to the seller, willing to convince the seller to negotiate the price to our purchasing budget, convincing the seller to allow us to shift in prior to settlement without charging us rental, strata and water and explaining to us the details of being the first home owner as well as organising that the existing unwanted furniture be discarded at the cost of the seller etc etc.

2. Adrian Slater from Slater and Muir: For speeding up the process of bank loan application and giving us more advice on purchasing the next investment property.

3. Matthew Kmiecik from Civic Settlements: For arranging all the settlement processes while we sit back and relax. At least we know we won't miss out on something.

4. David Minchin and the two Cambodian workers (sorry, I didn't ask for you names) from Carpet Call, Osborne Park: For recommending the good carpet that suits our house best and willing to negotiate the price of the carpet and for the great service provided by installing the carpet to its perfections! I find no flaws at all!

5. Pauline and Prathiba from Harvey Norman, Cannington: For sitting through with us and explaining the details of each mattresses (Pauline) and sofa (Prathiba) and why they cost more than the other. We left the store feeling very educated and proud that we made the best purchase! Also thanks to the two men who helped carried the 3-seater sofa up in the stairwell to our home! We are so sorry for troubling you!!

6. Elsie from Adairs, Carousel Shopping Centre: For spending one hour with us (who will go through an hour with a customer) just helping us to decide on the best colours and combinations of the bedsheets and quilt covers that would suit our wall colours! She's a wonder!!!
