Australian Day with parents on CNY Day 4

My parents touched down early this morning! Yay! Now it really feels like Chinese New Year! We can have a proper reunion today! :)

Went to Cranked, Leederville to have our morning breakfast before going back home to catch on our sleep. Hehe. We were still full in the afternoon so we decided to skip lunch. Walked around the city and the weather was ultimately mad! Crazy hot summer! I think my parents won't enjoy this holiday at all. LOL. We had to "pretend to shop" so that we can enter the indoor shops where the air-conditioning was blasting at high speed at the lowest temperature. Tee hee hee.

By the time we had dinner in Chi in Victoria Park, the weather started to cool down with some slight showers. We were quite worried that we wouldn't be able to catch the Australian Day fireworks. That was the biggest aim of my parents arriving on Australia Day!

And so yes, it was quite disappointing that it was raining but the show had to still go on! :) Initially, it was a slight drizzle but soon it became pouring and there was lightning too which added an extra effect to the fireworks. Haha. Most people was either with their umbrellas or their mats over the top of their heads. Some patriotic ones stood and watched the fireworks with water dripping down their foreheads. It was quite a funny sight, honestly. But no one ooh and ahh during the fireworks performance. It was a complete silence. I think everyone secretly hoped that the fireworks would end so that they could go home already. Haha. Pitied those who stayed since morning to get the best seats. Thank God we have an apartment right in the city so we just had to walk down to the river foreshore. Hehe. Funny enough, by the time the fireworks ended, the rain also stopped. It was as if it never rained at all! And everyone thronged back to the train or bus stations while dad, mum, Chin Fei and I made our way back home.

Tomorrow, we're going to be heading down to Denmark, and Albany (read here, here, here, here, here and here) for a weekend stay! It's a good time to head down south to avoid the 42 degrees heatwave they said it's coming on Saturday. Hehe. Hope the weather down south would be much better! :)
