So from last night until the wee hours of the morning today, Australians and some parts of Asia stayed awake to watch the lunar eclipse. The last eclipse was on my birthday (oh, I feel so special! :P) and the next round will be in 4 years time.
At about 8 pm, we went on a mission to hunt for the moon. Staying in the CBD means that there will be many tall towering buildings that would be blocking our sight and we didn't know where to find the moon. So we walked down towards Swan River and funnily enough, bumped into the Esplanade Park where the West Australian Symphony Orchestra (WASO) was performing in the park, in conjunction for Christmas! Unfortunately, we missed the Star Wars song, but stayed for a while to enjoy the free symphony before hunting for the moon again. LOL.
When we found the moon, it was still full and bright so we went back home again and came out at about 10 pm to find the lunar eclipse has started. Although Chin Fei has a good 7D Canon camera, unfortunately, he doesn't have a telezoom lens so we used my digital compact camera, Canon Powershot SX210 IS, that can zoom until 14X to capture the lunar eclipse. Obviously, the shots aren't very spectacular compared to a SLR but most importantly, we had some shots! Hehe. Funnily enough, there were many ang mohs looking at us, puzzled at what we were doing and asked us why we were taking pictures of the sky! Adoi, I guess these ang mohs rather drink on Saturday night than to care seeing the lunar eclipse. Haha.

We didn't stay until the eclipse was over because it was quite boring and so we went back home to sleep before 11 pm. Haha.
