Family tour Part 3: Domain Chandon winery and Healesville Sanctuary

So, as I mentioned, I was on a 3 weeks tour with my family, starting with Melbourne, the place I lived and studied for 4 years. My family has been to Melbourne before during my first year here so our trip around Melbourne this time was more of a relaxing trip because we have been to the two Victoria's major tourist attraction; Great Ocean Road and Phillip Island.

Hence, this time we decided to visit a winery; Domain Chandon winery in Yarra Valley. There are many wineries in Yarra Valley but we decided to choose this instead because it offers a free winery tour on how wine is produced and it also offers free wine tasting - not that I was interested in that anyway, but at least my dad could taste some free wine before purchasing a bottle to celebrate my graduation. :P

Barrels and barrels of wine

Playing hide and seek. Yes, I know we are childish. :P

Listening attentively to the tour guide's talk

The place (with constant temperature and humidity and light) where they keep the wine bottles at an angle to get rid of the yeast; a process known as riddling

Dad behind, carefully selecting the best wine. Haha. :P

The vineyard

Since Healesville Sanctuary is located near Domain Chandon, we decided to visit this Australian zoo, which houses Australian native animals, that is, no elephants, tigers, orang utans whatsoever, but:

Koala bear

Kookaburra

Dingo

..and other native animals like kangaroos and wallabies. We also saw some reptiles

Honestly, this zoo is a bit boring for me, perhaps because I have seen all these native animals thousands of times in my 4 years stay in Melbourne. :P In addition to that, I much prefer Melbourne Zoo because there are many other animals (like elephants and jaguars) including the native ones like Tasmanian devils and kangaroos - at least there is a variety of everything. :P

Anyway, some of the random pictures here are:

Waiting for the bird show to start

At the entrance of the sanctuary. Reminds me of Langkawi.
