My childhood cartoons

I was concentrating on my work in the Honours room when I heard the Honours guys talking about something familiar - Captain Planet. OMG, that was like ages ago when my brothers and I would wait for the showtime to sit glued to the TV to watch our favourite cartoon! :P Although I last watched the cartoon about 10 years (or more) ago, I could still sing out the first few lines of Captain Planet. The guys were laughing because I knew about the cartoon and also because it was so long ago that it made us all seem so old! :P

Reminiscing my childhood days, I could also remember my other favourite cartoons; Dark Wing Duck, Baja Hitam, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (which my brothers named our two tortoises at home, Michael (for Michaelangelo) and Ninja) and Thundercats (which I always watched when I was in UK, and I even had the Thundercats sword and a collection of stickers! :P). I didn't only just watch "boys" cartoons, although I had to give in since I have two younger brothers :P. I also watched Carebears and was a fan of My Little Pony. :) And even now, I still sing the "I Love You" song by Barney and Friends. Hehe. And oh, who can forget the Pinky and Brain song? It's such a pity that Brain always want to rule the world but can never succeed. Haha. It would be nice if the producers actually give him a chance to rule the world, for once. Gee... :)

Pinky: Gee, Brain, what are we going to do tonight?
Brain: The same thing we do every night, Pinky - try to take over the world!

The Pinky and the Brain

One is a genius, The other's insane...

Hmm, you might be thinking, why I didn't mention Ultraman or Power Rangers. Don't know why, but I didn't enjoy those cartoons. Found it lame. :P

Now, children, this generation, have Powerpuff girls, Telly-tubbies and The Wiggles to entertain them. I don't understand why The Wiggles is nice. I think Barney's better!! Haha. :P Okay, I know this blog sounds ridiculously childish. But, I also watched Macgyver! The quick-thinking fella who can make anything from scraps all over the floor to save his or anyone's life. I think men should know how to repair things from pieces of scraps. I love men who can just repair a faulty machine using just wires, superglue and all sorts, instead of sending it to the manufacturer to repair. Haha. (Once when my umbrella was spoilt by the strong wind, I didn't want to throw it away because it has been with me for so long, that I decided to repair the "spokes" with paper clips. It's still with me! :) Oh, so proud! :P)

So anyway, can you still remember your childhood shows? I'd love to hear them! :)

Can't wait for the end of October for my submission of thesis. And I've already planned out how to celebrate the end of my Honours! I've already purchased a ticket to watch Bjorn Again on 1st November!! Woohoo! Can't wait! :) Yes, I grew up loving ABBA, Bananarama and the "back-then" Kylie Minogue and her boyfriend, Jason Donovan. My favourite songs by Kylie and Jason are "Especially for You" and "Sealed with a Kiss". Was always listening to the song when I was in UK. Oh, so so so long ago!!!

Happy Tree Friends!! Not for little children though. They'll be traumatized for the rest of their lives. Hee...
